Stonework

Claire has provided artificial stonework to the Leisure and Tourism industry in a wide variety of Aquariums and tourist attractions in the UK and Europe, as well as for private gardens.

This adaptable process can provide any feature, made in a realistic stone like cement, to include natural rock, sculpture, seating, waterfalls, walls etc The pieces can be delivered or if too large, the stonework can be made in-situ.

Each creation an individual original piece of artistic stone sculpture.
Each is hand carved, painted and finished.

ARTipools

Claire is the designer and creator of ARTipools.

ARTipools are individual, unique, hand made artificial rockpools.

These beautiful and natural looking rock pools can provide habitats for wildlife around the coastline where natural rock has been disturbed. Individually designed to fit any space or surface, they can accommodate any litre volume requirements. The rock pools are handmade using a series of sustainable processes completely harmless and non toxic to marine life.

Claire’s history of providing underwater stone sculptures to the Aquarium industry has allowed this established, ‘tried and tested’ method of construction to be perfectly adaptable to ARTipools.

They are constructed from cement layers using different techniques and coatings, and are then hand carved and painted to exactly match, or to be sympathetic to and harmonious to the surroundings. Specific species requirements can be accommodated upon request.
The stonework is extremely strong and durable, to withstand years of weather and coastal conditions.

A commission from Dorset and Swanage County Council, 5 x ARTipools were created to replace natural rockpools lost when the new Swanage Life Boat slipway was built.
